Starting to have som FUN! Thank you.

Still small time, but I am actually now getting yard tickets with more than one type of metal on them.
Thanks to all the threads on breakdown and sorting.

Did you know there are 52 screws associated with a aluminum storm door?
Everyone should take a 1970's model hair dryer apart, just so you can say you have done it.
Took a Playstation controller apart and decided that I will not do electronics until I have more time for research on components.
Word of Mouth advertisement in a rural area that has limited recycling options yields a mixed bag of return. I have 160 acres worth of used electric fence tape that I am not sure what to do with, I am up to approx. 70 feet of phone line with the longest piece so far is 5' 4".(makes pretty good tie downs and yes I will eventually take it to the yard as insulated wire), but I also got an old brass pump, some ones ex boyfriend's pressure washer kit minus the pressure washer, did a pre-arranged pick-up the other day that had 16 ATV batteries in general area which I also scored with a simple phone call.

Again Thank you to all you guys!

On those Playstation controllers...if you see gold on the board, on the inside, don't give it to the yard. Stick to the side for when you get more!

An glad to hear the forums paying off for ya..! Always good to see folks make good, new or old.

Congrats to ya on putting the info here to a good use an making more profit!

Just make sure that it is not copper clad steel wire, quite a bit of it around.

Like Mech said the telephone wire from telephone poles I have checked has a steel wire in it. Mike.

I'm laughing at his counting the screws in the door, I've done that before with printers and copiers!!

Nat, glad you are having fun and isn't it addicting?!

Still learning the terminology but I haven't located anything as cool as copper clad steel phone cable, the 70 feet of phone cable I am talking about is the 8 tiny insulated copper wires inside of a plastic jacket. I believe it is called Cat 3.

That cable goes as low recovery wire at my yard....still like .50/lb. I have a large trash can I put it in and take it when it gets full or I happen to be going to the yard. I have one for that, one for small wire and one for larger wire I strip. Also good to have a couple around for the small steel parts you find (I do ewaste mostly, so I get a ton of small pieces).
