Well over a year later from my last update, I no longer look advertise for scrap metal, I do have a scrap pile building up from junk that I accumulate from messing with vehicles or stuff my buddy's accumulate. I'm out of school and have a full time job which is actually the end of the scrap metal recycling process. I work as a maintenance technician that melts down ductile iron such as rail road rails, brake calibers, axle shafts and just other general clean iron scraps. They melt it down and pour it into sand molds making all sorts of stuff out of iron, such as pump housing, turbo housings, vehicle parts such as manifolds, intakes, axle yokes, and all sorts of other stuff made out of cast iron.

I no longer have a 1/2 ton truck, upgrade to a 3/4 ton Duramax diesel last November cause I have jeeps that I like to build and take offroad and beat the crap out of.

All in all, I am grateful for being a part of this community, it has taught me a lot about recycling and has helped me obtain a job in the recycling industry.
That sounds like an awesome job you got there. Thats like the one part of the cycle that I haven't been able to see yet.

2 years to the day pretty much on an update.

Accumulating a scrap pile but most of my bins have vanished and the latest scrapping I've been doing is hauling vehicles on my gooseneck in for scrap for my buddies and myself since I've accumulated a collection of cherokees for offroad purposes. I now work full time as a maintenance electrician for a house hold name company in one of their pet food facilities working long hours, making good money so not having to rely on scrapping much anymore, just for some extra cash for beer or to put towards another toy.

I don't know how it is around you guys but scrap is literally in the dumps around here 4 cents a lb, not even worth it to load up, so what little I have I store it out back out of sight and the stripped shells I have are gonna wait to go in until the market climbs again which is soon I hope.

I promise to post another update again much sooner than 2 years haha hopefully with in months of the shenanigans I get involved with.

While iron is down, catalytic converters are near at all time high. I am about 4 hours from Sunbury. If you ever wanted free quotes on any cat, please PM me anytime. More money on your converters can really help in a repressed iron market.
