Was just another day, another call to PU Escrap...and then...the SURPRISE

Had two ASAP calls yesterday from private schools. Both were the typical mixed load of desktops, printers, a huge network copier/printer, overhead projectors and misc yada yada. At the one they said we have a few TV's and some other things down in the basement. No prob. grabbed the two-wheeler and we head down. We walk in and there is a pile of old projectors, wire, 2 TV vhs combos. Start sliding things out into the hall and getting it organized to take up the elevator. Then they ask if I will take this "thing" and get it out of their way. I look over, trying not to drool all over the freshly buffed floor, gulp and say, ummm sure...we can take that.

We had the older version of this paper folder when I had the print shop. Baum is the "Cadillac" of folders. Got this home, in the shop, cleaned it up a little and grabbed a stack of paper. Honestly, spent maybe 15min wiping it off and checking settings, pump, motor, rollers, etc. Ran 4-5 sheets, few more tweaks, then turned that sucker on full speed. pop pop pop pop pop folded every single sheet without a double feed or missed pickup.

There is one listed local for 2500. Sounds about right. Here is a recent sale on fleecebay.

Have a friend that is still doing sales and service for the trade. Took a short vid and sent it to him. This is one of those things that a man could get "greedy" with and sit on hoping to get that "top dollar". Offered it to him for 500. I do not have the time, or space, to give this the attention it needs to get the top dollar. And, while I have bought and sold a lot of printing equipment over the years, it is important for me to stay focused on what I am doing now, and 5bills on a quick flip... will go a longgggg way. Scores like this help offset the drop in prices on other things!!!

Now, having said all that, if he would decline for some reason...then, I will make the time... and space!

Thought of you when I bought this today Brojer...I certainly don't need it but there's something about old stuff that works with human power to get the job done. We'll let it sit around a while then put on the block.

does that bring back some memories! we had a reoccurring order that grew to almost 200,000 pieces every 2 months. in the early days, we used ones like that to hand insert and staple an envelope in. we were only doing 20-30k at that time and it was a big deal when we finally got an electric saddle stitcher with wire feed. nice piece!
