Okay, so today I am finally going through this stuff. Apparently, it is all desktop servers minus one or 2 regular desktops.

I just looked the server up on ebay, that I am currently working on, and the parts alone equal over $300 just for the few things I have seen. I easily have this machine valued at $300 to $500 just in parts I can sell on ebay.

I am not saying all of this to glote by any means. Reason I am mentioning any of this, is because of a situation I need some advice on.

One of the local buyers that I have that I have spoken about in the past, buys pretty much anything and everything that I can find and sell to him, that he can make a profit on.

Well, I told him about all the servers, etc. He said he wanted his tech guy to come with him and to take a look. I'm cool with that, so we all know what I have.

Anyway, my wife and I just discussed it, and we are trying to determine on how to work this. We know easily what one of these machines will go for just in parts alone (I have done 2, and have verified that they work 100%).

Since I know I can easily sell them on ebay, I am trying to see if it would be worth it to sell to him, or just sell them on my own. I know the pros and cons for selling to either one.

I dont know if I should tell him "I looked this one up on ebay, and know what I can sell it for, for parts, so I need at least $300" or let him and his tech guy make an offer and then negotiate, etc.

I just dont want to lose him as a buyer, since I can sell a lot of stuff to him easily, and it is all cash.

What is your opinions? I could let him look and make an offer. Tell him straight up what I need, or just said they are all broken, and sell them myself.

I can only say one thing here.... look at your websites, and then re-read what you wrote here. Go back and re-read some of the stuff you've posted in the past. I see a common thread here... and I hope you see it soon too.

Thanks, I think. Have a good day.

If I buy something that I can sell as a working unit or units for $500, I'm in at no more then $200-$250, preferably less. It's my a$$ on the line if the part ends up being DOA so I take that into consideration when buying.

I fully agree, and I certainly dont expect full face value. As long as it is not going to be like $100 a unit then I am cool.

Okay, got the issue fixed. Apparently these things take a few minutes to warm up and boot up.

However, now I have a different issue. They are all giving the same error message, which I am hoping is not real bad.

Right before going into Windows Server 2003, they all say "At least one service or driver failed during system startup. Use Event Viewer to examine the event log for details" Is this a major issue, or something to be easily fixed by someone with my tech knowledge then myself?
