It is easy to make more off steel than copper. It takes me about 2-3 hours to load 1500 to 2000 lbs of white goods and drop it off at scrap yard. Turns into $75-$100 per hour. Hard to strip 25lbs of copper per hour, especially when it is being pulled from CRTs.
Couldn't agree with you more here. No doubt that copper is great. Per pound. But it sure take a whole lot of work to get those lbs to add up to what a man/woman can make on a single load of ferrous.
