    Would you pick this up?

Would this be worth the time to pick up? Never scrapped a door before, is there enough aluminum there once the windows are removed to make it worth it?

depends on how far you have to go to get it. If I saw that on the side of the road, I'd grab it no hesitation

They add up. Handles, latches, hinges, and closures can also be re-used, resold. If you're a handyman/woman the glass can also, or maybe donated to a re-use center. Same is true with windows and their glass and hardware. A number of window and door makers made their own doors, but ordered the hardware from other manufacturers, sometimes you'll find the same brand hardware on different brand windows/doors

Screened - yes. Glass - no.

If it was laying in front of me.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Looks like more glass than aluminum. My yard won't take glass, so I wouldn't drive to go get that. I'd take it if it were laying in front of me, though. It would probably be worth a few bucks.

probably spend more in gas than what it is worth in scrap but one thing i've learned from reading but have yet to follow through on... networking seems to be the key to success in this business. seems to be the key to success in every business so why not recycling too. may not be worth your time today but you never know what will come from new contacts.
take a business card/flyer if you go.

It could be a helpful detail if we knew if it's to be picked up from in front of us, or from 3 states away ; ) You also might want to consider what condition it's in, and if it still has the frame and hardware. If it is in decent shape, you'll likely find it much more profitable to sell, trade, or install it somewhere

It's definately worth a few Hot N Spicy's from McDonalds. I'd pick it up, but I also pick up paper clips in parking lots.

Are you by chance missing a roll of $100 dollar bills in a rubber band?

I would grab it for sure. After you take the internal steel corner & Tee brackets out and remove the hinge you got extruded AL $$

If it's not to far why not? They may give you the alum ladders or other stuff! But as stated if you go, give them a card or two, they or someone they know may call you back for something far greater than an alum screen door!

Yes I would if it were in front of me or if I had to drive 5 mins away. The glass can always be thrown out.

I would if it's not too far, I know of a place that buys all kinds of aluminum doors and windows. Easy money for me and more than scrap value.
