What kind of weather stops you from curb shopping?

SE Michigan, USA here. As I write this, it's the best garbage night of the week, but it's 10 degrees F outside and the windchills are in the 15-20 below range. That's it for me, I'm staying inside.

If you curb shop, what are your limits? Would you Canadian scrappers go out on a night like this? Would you southerners stay inside if it was in the 30s out? (I won't. 30s are fine.)

I have a great heater in my truck, my insulated boots, and an excellent set of coveralls. As long as it isn't pouring down rain the cold doesn't bother me.

Just got back from curb hunting. its 5 degrees out. Only a tornado will keep me from scrapping.

i dont curb shop but , as long as the sun is shining no matter the temp i will work in the yard, if its snowing or raining tho it will really depend on my cash level. if i get a call for a car for pick up i will try to get them no matter the weather but sometimes i have to put them off

I've got a room set up inside, with plenty to do in there when it's raining or just too nasty, unless i've really got to. Got plenty to do outside when the weather's better. I never do go curb shopping

30's? i don't think it has ever been in the 30's since i moved here. i doubt anyone would even bother putting trash out if it was that cold. i just got back from curb shopping and only came home with a grill, vacuum and monitor. it was raining earlier, few houses had any trash out. i know now not to bother until the morning if the ground is wet.

I kind of like it when it is raining because their is less competition and fewer people waling around.

I don't care how cold , Fact is that's the best time since many scrappers are gone (less competition ) also i look forward to the cold since plastic busts up real easy. But like most people i look forward to the spring

I don't do a lot of CurbCo shopping, but last night I filled the bed of my old Ranger all the way up over the wooden sides I put on it. I'm very sporadic with my garbage picking. Gotta be in the mood, and get discouraged quick if no immediate results.

I can't scrap with frozen fingers. I stopped curb shopping on my bike in December, and now I'm almost done with teardowns of the current pile.

Here from November to February I mostly see trash out seems the weather keeps folks from dragging items to the curb. If I am going curbco shopping it would be in the warmer months . Rain won't stop me . Had surgery in march so I have not shopped this year. Have had plenty of time to look out Window on trash eve and trash day. I have not seen a scrapper drive by in a month seems the all gave up. Couple of weeks and I will be out.

I don't curb shop, not above it or anything just mainly do E-Waste. That being said, when it's cold in my unheated shop I bring stuff inside. It wasn't unusual for us to be sitting around the table chatting or on the couch watching TV while we stripped transformers of wound copper this winter.

I do not do a lot of curb shoping since I use my own old things but rain is the hardest down here. So mostly reallly nasty. thunderstorms tend to stop me. However, I am building a shed in the backyard, so hopefuly I will not need to be stoped xd..
