Perfect timing on a New Purchase

For the last couple of weeks, I've been scouring CL and the classifieds for a truck. I decided to take my time, do some research, and just wait until a good deal reared its head. That opportunity arose on Wednesday when I found a 98 Ranger for sale at a local dealership. Of course, I checked it over front to back, took a test drive, and did an online query of the vehicle's history on that vehicle Autocheck website run by Experian. Everything checked out, and the price was right, so I went ahead and bought the truck. So no more would I have to pass up opportunities to pick up scrap that was too big to fit in my car, and no more would I have to worry about getting fish slime and worm guts on the back seat of my car every time I go fishing.

Fast forward to tonight. I decided to check out the free section on CL while watching TV after dinner. Sure enough, someone was giving away an old Norditrack treadmill because it didn't work anymore. I made the call, found out that it was still available, and headed out to pick it up. Right now, it's still sitting in the bed of the truck as I decided that it would be best to wait for daylight to try and unload the thing and bring it in to my work space. I'm going to try and get the treadmill running again. But if I can't, I can rest easy knowing that this is only the beginning in a long line of scrap pick-ups.

Moral of the story: It's only been two days, but I can honestly say that buying this truck was the smartest thing I've done all year.

That's great news...A man can never have too many trucks or trailers.
