    copper pots

I went against my rule with garage sales , That is to buy metal above spot cost . (spot not real for us anyway)
I purchased 20 lb of pure copper cook pots, at a vintage of 35 years . The seller would not take a penny less then $100
But for $100 I got her to toss in also a 3 lbs brass thing - 1/2 lb copper thing - and One printer .
Still back to the pots ,I was under the impression cooking in pure copper can poison be to humans . But chocolate and cooking sweets is OK . Since these are the full gamut from pots to frying pans & i see some items that look like could be for pouring hot chocolate. Do any of you know if cooking normal food is ok ?
In a pinch i figure these pots and pans are sure to be a hit on Ebay if I resell

Any copper pots and pans used for cooking or baking must be lined with stainless steel, tin or nickel. Many foods, particularly acidic ones like tomatoes, citrus fruits or sauces that contain acidic ingredients, absorb toxic materials from copper. The negative effects typically include stomach pain or nausea.

Most copper cookware I get is copper-lined or copper bottom. You sure this stuff is pure copper?
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Yes all copper full out side of it an inside of it (the pots) , the handles are plastic . Even the lids are copper . The woman said she bought them 20 years ago from a chef on long island . I heard from a friend chocolate is best made in copper pots so i figure this set must of been used for the creation of sweets . The frying pans are complete copper but do have a tin color inside but from the out side all you see is copper even the plastic handle is attached to a copper. Any one have recommendations I think i will clean them up and offer them on ebay . I can wait many years for copper to hit $10 but really what will $10 buy when that happens .

I wish I could of found for less $$ , research indicates pure copper is best for chocolate , candy and other confections . I also have a copper mixing bowl that mixes egg whites in such a way that chefs demand it. It seems the fame with copper cook wear is its ability to cook well at low temps and or just be very responsive to temp change that chefs demand . New copper pots & pans are in the thousands and as such worn tin or nickel coated pans can be re coated as needed . Since True Tin or Nickel has higher value then copper they are not considered dirty copper . The ones I see on the net have brass handles. Wile I think a chef might like the comfort of plastic handles there not as strong so i feel that might cause mine to have less value.
