    That's a nice haul, how much did you get for your copper if you don't mind me asking. I just got an e-mail fro a local yard and said that copper and aluminum both went up but did not say how much.

    Those AC compressors can be cut horizontally just above the 3 spot welds & the case breaks into two.
    Then lift up the top part of the case, drop it on something hard, & the iron core & copper windings will drop out.

    If they don't do a vertical cut & split the casing a bit. 2 or 3Lbs + copper wire in each one.

    When I do compressors I drain the oil a few days before while I'm working on other things. Then my dad will come cut them all open for me. (Finally learned a quick easy way that don't eat up the grinding blades) We take out the motor or whatever it's considered inside, he'll slice the copper off on one side then I pop them all out quickly and fill up my buckets. Made for a nice pay day last time and I've been saving them up for months, if times get tough that should help me out.

    $3.12 a lb clean total for load was $4023.17 not bad for 2 weeks work (not including cars)
