    Score! New pallet jack.

So I got a call from a physical therapist (Bill) on my route between home and shop asking me to come to his garage sale and take away his unsold scrap metal items. Turned out he had half a garage full and my truck was already mostly full, so I told him I would empty my load and be back. When he called he made it sound like he just had a filing cabinet or something.

I picked up my helper and went back and sitting in his driveway is a brand new pallet jack with the packing cardboard still on it. Turns out someone had used it to deliver something to him over a year ago and left it behind. He called them multiple times and they never came to get it, he tells me I can have it for helping him out. This is a 3000 kg (not pound) capacity pallet jack!

Now I have to add to the story that I have 2 pallet jacks I bought at auction for stupid cheap, and neither one works very well, but money is tight right now and I really didn't have the cash to buy a new one, so this was serious serendipity.

Bill has so much heavy equipment that I have to make a second trip, and I'm driving a Chevy 3500 stake truck with a 12 foot bed and enclosed sides. First load to yard $167.00 even with shred knocked down to $190 a ton. Go back for the second load and as I am leaving I see his neighbor is throwing away his old furnace unit, so I load that up. Neighbor asks me if I can help him out with a pile of branches. Tell him I'll be back tomorrow for another $150.00.

Make second run to scrap yard for another load at $134.00.

Oh, btw Bill also gave me all of his unsold electronics to scrap. Scrap he**, they're going right on CL!

Oh, in addition, three people came and bought items I had on CL, a microwave, a nightstand, and some adult diapers, all items I got from Cleanout jobs.

All in all a very good day!
