    I saw that on "Penn and Teller tell a lie". It turned out to be true. he gets bits of diamonds as well. He mostly works the jewelry district where people are just walking out with it on their feet.

    You would need a helluva vacuum cleaner to do that...to me it looked like the guy was kinda cutting at the compacted dirt etc to get to the bottom where the goodies were...not to mention the diamond embedded in gum stuck to the sidewalk for who knows how long
