Battery Backup Breakdown

I recently had some fun scrapping an old Belkin battery backup, and I took some photos during the process. I thought I'd share some of the photos. There is something so oddly satisfying about accumulating bins of components and materials.

Agreed. There is something about it.

I've got a bunch of battery backups lying around too. I think I'll take a stab at them later.

Wow, that's a lightweight unit. I would have expected to see a fist size transformer in there. All the backups I have have had large transformers in them... but I'm sure they are professional grade and this one's probably for home use. You will see what I mean when you get another one... Good job with the photos... looks great.

is there any e scrap value from these units. took 20 of these apart last week had two 13# batteries in each. then theres the metal case,the tranformer,and the board but i dont see anything of e-scrap value on it other than some ic chips there is copper al. and thats about it.
