    Started breaking down server heat sinks

    I have a boatload of these HP heatsinks (model# 344498-001). They are broken down from G4 servers and have the processors attached to the bottom. I was selling them for my company originally but sales have dropped.

    I have a few questions (and I did my research as much as possible first). What type of processor is this considered for scrap purposes? It is a Xeon 3.0GHz. Sometimes the processors sell well on their own, sometimes not. I am still learning, but I believe the base is copper (1.4lb) from the scratch tests I did, the overlay aluminum, and the yellow is plastic. Thanks everyone!

    I have had a few of these, cant work out an eay way to get that copper piece off the bottom...any ideas fellas?

    What works for me is a good, sharp, wood chisel and a hammer. The Al fins should be
    Soldered to the copper.
