Any one try a police auction?

We have one coming up on Sat 21. and we have another auction the same day to attend.
Would like to check out the police auction but we know we can make money from the other for sure.

hmmm what is a scrapper to do?

Have you tried calling the police auction company and asking for a list of the items? alot of stuff gets throws out that has recently come just to make room the the new shiny stuff cause hey they can buy it. smh. So i would take a guess at electronics, vehicles, and such. If the call fails u can always hit the sure thing and swing by the other and see what went for sale to get a better understanding.

Since you have said "we" in the post I would assume that there is more than one person involved....If this is the case then send one person to one auction and the other to the police auction....My wife and I used to do this when we were big into eBay....It never failed that there was more than one auction on the same day that we wanted to attend. Thanks to the power of cell phones it is easy to stay in contact and get opinions on things without having to be in the same room.

Police auctions can be great providing that there are no overzealous bidders at the sale. There are a good many times that people will bid well above an items value just because they are caught up in a bidding war with some idiot.

Yes there is two of us, disorganized scrapping, my wife Betty and I. I really don't think I'd send Betty to the auction. She is the beauty and I am the muscle behind the scenes.
Betty is be an overzealous bidder just because she saw her favourite coloured lipstick in one of the lots.

The only police auctions i've seen around here are their annual bike auction in spring....basically they auction off the nice looking bikes, and the old style ones you usually see bums riding on pile up the floor, and they sell those last, usually in groups....one year a guy got a truckload for 5 bucks...and i'm talking the bikes were heaped about 3 feet OVER the cab. A bike I wanted had got lumped in with the group (it was a mongoose) so I waited around for 3 hours for the guy to show up, so I could throw him 5 bucks lol...they also usually have a table of random crap, stereos, computer stuff, etc, and maybe a car or two, but thats about it. I havn't gone since I was 15 or 16, I miss it every year because they don't announce it much, and I never look it up.
