    What a find today.

Like a lot of people, I get a good amount of my scrap from auctions. I have made some good buys, but for me its more about the rush I get when I'm bidding(witch costs me money sometimes). Every now and then I will come acrosswierd or exciting items that are not scrap that I will try to buy. I wasn't really feeling the auction today but decided to walk around and see if anything caught my eye, and it did. As I was about to leave, I passed one of the show cases and glanced in. There were a few watches that caught my eye and upon further investigation, one of them had Rolex markings. The owner was standing right there so I asked to see it. He told me it was a fake and when I looked closely it looked authentic, but being an ex Pawn Broker, I reconized some key markings that pointed to it being a fake. I decided to hang around to see what it would go for, and when the price went down to 5 dollars, I bid on it. There wasn't much interest in it until that point, but a few others bid after I did so I bid 15.
I endeed up buying the knock off Rolex for 15 dollars. I looked at it more and knew it wasn't real, but I took it to get looked at anyways. Turns out I was right, but I also found out there is a market for knock offs and the good knock offs (like I had) Could be valued up to 5 or 6 hundred. It Is a replica of a 45,000 dollar Oyster Perpetual Daytona. I think I got an awesome deal but I don't think I am going to sell it.

    Thought Id share.

I have a couple "knock offs" I bought in NYC for $15-30. One of them is way more legitimate looking than the rest, has the rolex embossed back casing, weighs a good bit, the hand sweeps etc. I am not into watches anymore maybe I should look into selling them.

We were at a yard sale a yard/estate sale in a very $$$$ neighborhood and the wife picked up an older purse , and before she could ask the price , the guy snapped $ 5.00 . Ok it had some weight to it , just handed him a five , found 6 very good high end knock off ladies watches and a 14K ring . LOL
( We Scrapped the ring and sold the watches to another dealer )

    Ps
She sold the purse at Brimfield for $ 30.
