What is your favorite wire stripping tool?

I have wasted time and money on shiney gimmicks. I've made or copied stripping tools and tried a couple varieties of the quick change razor knives, I still reach for the Stanley No. 199. The fixed blade just works!

How big of wire you stripping? The rolling cutting wheel type works good if the wire is 12 gage or bigger.

I process all # 1 wire. I tried the strip tech roller wheel, the Chinese roller wheel, and made a few. All 4 were manual.

I like my Paladin Stripax Pro 6. When installing my 7.1 speakers, they did not damage one fine wire. It may also be that I used good speaker wire. It was 14 ga. with 105 strands.

We are talking stripping long lengths of wire and not just the ends for a stereo system.

My wife and she usually uses a fixed blade utility knife. Tried making some of the manual wire strippers shown on this site, but the utility knife keeps her busy and quiet. Did I just say that?

I use a brake/fuel line flaring tool with a blade sandwiched in it mounted in my vice

Tube flaring tool with a blade clamped in there. I put it in the vice. It's the cats A$$!
