if it has AL wire in motor, my favorite yard calls them Breakage(dirty cast AL). Every place has their own way/rules. Whenever I am unsure about something I keep it separate and ask whoever is...
I broke down a old roached-out coke machine from the 70's a few years ago. It was basically a fridge with a big hunk of steel on the front. It had lots of steel, the compressor, a small radiator,...
Olddude-i have never used Inkfrog. I just E-mail myself the picts, download onto my computer, then use the search method Phantom001 mentioned. When I search the item I look at the sold listings find...
our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
That is great for you, but the average scrapper does not find/buy tons of clean ready to sell copper. Yes I love to see shinny copper, but there are many more profitable ways to spend time than...
It is easy to make more off steel than copper. It takes me about 2-3 hours to load 1500 to 2000 lbs of white goods and drop it off at scrap yard. Turns into $75-$100 per hour. Hard to strip 25lbs of...
oh you meant cars...
I request a FREE carrier pick up when I pay for the postage online from USPS. Put it in mailbox, raise flag and done.
they work pretty good for poping ICs off of low grade boards
hey olddude I have the same blank page disease that you seam to have. One thing that really helps me is searching sold auctions and read the descriptions that other people used. Hope this helps.
Maybe I am wrong, but I feel like a little bit of my time, gas, and effort would be worth keeping a customer (especially one who was giving me free stuff) happy. He may not tell many people about the...
yrc has a terminal in Jacksonville, but i think that is the one that Miked says he has to build his pallets at. If I remember correctly it was a truck bed and loading dock height issue for him.
good answers thanks everyone...and good questions Miked. I have a couple ideas for that. Either putting it together in the truck bed or putting it together there if the loading dock isnt the same...
thanks for the replies. I have checked several local businesses for them with no luck, but will ask at the scrapyard tomorrow.
I am looking for just a couple gaylords to ship my E-scrap and cheapest i could find them was about $125 for 5. $95 was shipping. Does anyone have any ideas where I could get a few gaylords without...
"FOUR MORE YEARS??? ARE YOU INSANE???" When I saw that one I laughed for about 2 blocks....then I got sad :(
i guess i spend a little more time than most people, but i usually take 20-30 min per tower. that includes the time to break down hard drives(i know),the power supplies(i have more time than $$),cut...

my grandfather had a black bear that was comming up to his "campsite" and eating out of his sour mash barrel...that bear was easy to find he was passed out drunk about 200 yards away.
i did this experiment a few years ago, hand stripping wire. I did 30.7 lbs of random copper(not tinned) computer wires before i got 10lbs of insulation.(that took about 6 hours) That gave me about a...
Happy and safe 4th to everyone.
I am gonna dive into my 500lb pile of yolks with a hatchet!! (insert rebel yell):D
BRASSCATCHER- that sounds like a little bit of overkill to me.....but i am gonna try it anyway. I have seen the cheap 180 grn Remington Core-Lokt and a 30-06 BAR used to "prep" old propane tanks....
