Thanks and congrats Joe...
When I get a call and - out of nowhere - I hear "how much are you going to charge me?" = I feel I'm in heaven!
Thanks BohemianLush..... Too bad we're so far away!. I have seen a bumpersticker like that a long time ago.... don't remember where.
My yard is in Gaithersburg, MD. I deal with Montgomery Scrap Co....
Thanks, I love your logo
I have this propane forklift for sale (on consignment from a customer). Everything works, no leaks,
I don't see a categorie "equipment" on Craiglist.
What's the best way to advertise it?
Thanks
Also: if you have just a regular auto driver license or even a CDL class B you can tow only a 10,000 lbs GVW trailer. Everything above 10,000 requires a class A restricted or a class A.
Great info Gustavus....
what are the power requirements for your equipment?
what are the operating costs comparing to the less hot oxy-acetylene?
Thanks
Thanks no lead
Victor: difficult sometimes to screw off the plug which is most of the time caulked with grease and rounded after years of oil changes!
Air chisel wins!
Thanks
DC area is also preparing for the worse... just days after the scaring earthquake which jolted us pretty bad.
Best wishes to all
Thanks: air chisel cost irrelevant. We have a compressor running all the time with impact wrench for the weels and air sawzall for the catalytic.
Re: old fashion hammer and punch. Not as easy as it...
Can anyone tell me if the air chisel is the best tool to punch a hole in the oil pan (trans and engine) of junk cars before the crushing.
Have anyone tried this?
Does it work?
What kind of chisel?...
I totally agree with gueroinchicago. Watch out those competitors who are so friendly by day and steal from you at night.
I like to scrap in Baltimore. Anybody from there?
We could partner on some jobs.
:(A competitor said he would report me to the EPA! He probably never did but he could have donbe it.
Nothing funny there. Watch out! Money talks, bull**** walks.:(
Happy scrapping
Hi, I broke the etiquette since I posted before I came here.
Anyway, I'm a old experienced scrapman. My name "ferrailleur" means scrapman in French. I have a small yard in Maryland. I work alone...
like Scrap man says: nothing more fun and more effective than hitting something repeatedly with a sledgehammer.
My fav: breaking a cast iron boiler in a basement and getting sweaty and dirty.
Does anyone know where I can but a T-shirt with the logo or words "I love scrap metal, junk cars, etc???
Thanks
just sold an steel encased battery pack for $700. It came from a Mitshubishi forklift. Don't remember the weight but they paid me 30 cents/per lbs.
also, watch out for people who could report you and collect a bounty. This has happened.
The junkyard where I sell my scrap says the copper prices are down.
Is this true?
How to check the fluctuation of prices. I'm not a Wall Street investor, just a serious scrapper.
Thanks
Thanks JacksDaddy,
My dream is to work in a Bangladesh or India shipwrecking yard (or beach?).
I totally understand your fascination with that good scrap.
Cheers
