How much are the scrap yards paying for converters lately?

Anyone know what the scrap yards are paying lately for Catalytic converters? Later model honeycomb type.

In my town it is legal to take stuff as long as it is on the curb. If it is in the Garbage can or Recycling bin, it is illegal to take and you can be fined.

Just talked to the guys at my yard in chicago. They said Jan 1st they will have to start issuing 1099's. This may not be a bad thing though. It might get rid of some of the competition.

you could get a carbide blade for it but I wouldn't recommend it. You will burn through batteries and probably burn out the motor in the drill trying to cut with it. They just arent made for that...
