Nice setup man!!! Looking official!!
Who should I be checking in with about selling pallets? I have tons I've always used for firewood out behind the shop..sucks I've been burning money..
I'll check into the heating systems, thanks for the info!!
Wow, based on the numbers you guys are throwing out I gotta get on the move!! It's tough getting people to come off their cars where I'm at too..and what do pallets sell for? Who buys them?
Made my first run to the steel mill today!!! $151.20 on misc. metal from around a house that's being torn down. Only 2-3 hours of work. I had a 55gal metal drum full of small heavy iron pieces, nuts...
No other parts I should take out?
Just wondering if some of you experienced guys could possibly make me a list of everything I need to take off/out a car before scrapping it so I can maximize my profit..i know the basics like wiring...
Thanks for the replies everyone!!
What type aluminum would that be classified as? Anyone else ever scrap a jon boat?
Finally dropped here in SC..the shredder was at $11.50/100lbs and closed for a week for July 4th, now at $9.00/100lbs.
Went to the shredder today, holding steady at $12/100lbs as it's only dropped from $13.50/100lbs. This is in SC.
I too thought it was crap!! Yeah, I hate those storage auction shows as well, but scrappers could really hurt the publics view of what we do..plus all those guys seem to be complete idiots..it's only...
Any of you guys up in that area ever seen these guys out working? Use the same yards as them...anything???
How much did you pay for this one? When you buy cars, do you tell the people you're buying to scrap it or want some parts off it? Sorry, I'm a newbie looking for advice!!!
My local shredding yard went from $13.50 per 100# to $11.50 per 100# maybe dropping more soon..
Thanks Copper Head!!! I'm going out to have a look at it now..
I use a Garrett 2500 GTI, my dad is starting to get the hang of his Minelab ETRAC.
Thanks for the info guys!!! I'm new to scrapping and need ALL the help I can get!!!
I'm new to business so this maybe a dumb question...but, how often does this happen? Any idea how long it'll be before it rises again?
Where do you post on CL?
Nice pay day buddy!!! I just started my copper and aluminum stash too..
Thanks guys!! I also got a copper radiator and about 10lbs insulated wire today.
How do you sell? What kind of money do they go for?
Well, today I made my first step into starting my own scrapping business!!! I went and picked up two radiators, a CAT, four batteries, and a small amount of small metal. This will be my permanent...
