Yes, especially the ones with DVR. I believe they are mid-high grade boards.

I recently had an oscilloscope and a vectorscope that I scrapped, they were from 1967 and the boards were high grade. Cable boxes and modems come to mind also.

Yes it is down, on 7-12-11 I got 3.60/lb for #1 copper. Well yesterday the yard was paying 3.35/lb for #1. Weird thing is the light iron went up from .10/lb to .11/lb.

A/C units and computer monitors are my favorite, followed by computer towers.

My yard pays .10lb for anything ferrous, light iron or steel. If it sticks to a magnet, it all goes in the same pile.

Don't forget that the A/V cable from the monitor to the back of the PC. The wire that screws into the tower, when you strip this wire a lot of times the wires underneath are sheathed with braided...

The center electrode of the plug could be made from numerous different metals but you would need a lot of plugs to make it worth your wild. To get it out, just smash the ceramic surrounding it.

At the yard I go to, if they give you less than $100 than your paid out of the "petty cash". They don't need a drivers license or anything unless it's over $100. I'm glad the yard is only 3 miles...

Some are easier than others to separate the fins from the copper tubes. I get 1.70 lb. for cleaning them, so I end up doing that most of the time.

I use plastic shopping bags for all smaller stuff going on the inside scale at the yard. I've used a 13 gallon trash bag for turning in covered wire and they don't deduct weight for the bags.

Angle grinder is how I get the copper out. I just make a cut on opposite sides and bust it open from there. There is a way to do it using a chisel and hammer, but it takes a little longer.

When you do process your machines try to take some pictures of the tear down. I'll do that when I scrap the last couple of machines I've got left.
