We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

    How do you Ship?

I've done some looking, but I haven't found any recent threads on this question.

I'd be interested to know how you ship- what carrier, how much weight,...

    I'll start:

I ship via FedEx for larger items (40+ Pounds), USPS for the small stuff, and I have one buyer that I sell to who prepays shipping. I'm moving up to freight, though.

    So, what do you do?

We use all of them depending on the size and weight. I use vendors that pay the shipping whenever I can and that is a big factor in the choice of what vendor I use.

It depends on what i am shipping. But mostly use usps and ups cause they are the 2 closest to me. Fedex is over 30 minutes one way

I ship with the man on the Forum Terry, If you have the weight, I shipped 2850 Lbs with him on Friday for .18 cents a lbs he arranges all,
we also use the US post Office for our special High Dollar Items, Call Terry He's the man, I would just like to add that when a buyer pays the freight he has to charge you on the back end there is no free lunch, unless you get food stamps.

Always negotiate the price first and then work on getting the shipping paid for. Price is the main factor, but paid shipping can be the difference in which vendor gets the commodity.

I'd assume that the buyer would just deduct the price for shipping initially. If I'm paying $3.00 per pound for something, and it'll cost me $0.50 to pay your shipping, my price would be $2.50 per pound.

There may be some buyers that will do it separately, but it still sounds like a good way to make a buyer resent the transaction. I'd rather have a happy buyer!

Sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't. It's always worth a try though. If you don't try you don't get it for sure!

I ship exclusively through UPS, because of my job having a daily pickup and I have a decent relationship with our Rep they gave me the same discount my company does for my personal account.

I deliver by myself every time. I have a 18' flat bed trailer and a Sierra 1500 V8.

even when i will ship my ewaste to Ohio, I will do the road !! If you haul 6000$ of ewaste, That's worth the 350$gaz + 50$hotel . It also not consider that i can haul something else for the return! I will try to make it with Uship or i will buy industrial plastic bins from a seller. if i haul 10 bins and i make a 40$ margin each bin, It pay the fuel and the hotel =)
