I have a Steel Dragon Stripper but it sucks for braided wire. I think I'm gonna finally get on this once I finish my gaylord of motors. Do you strip #1 or #2 insulated or both?

I strip #2 mainly with this stripper, I can strip #1 pretty easily with a razor knife.

Another necro bump.
Anyone try this with degaussing coils?
I saw someone mention something about it earlier in the thread but, he's banned and no one else has mentioned if they've tried.

We just use a knife on the coils to cut the tape off; like I've mentioned a couple of times, cut a couple of strands to make sure their not aluminum.Anyone try this with degaussing coils?

This works great, I just made one myself. I am glad I came across this or else I would have just turned in my thhn as insulated wire for around $1.00/lb. Once you get the hang of how much to tighten the screw down on the wire it works really good. I also put my block of wood in a vise that way I wouldn't have to hold it as I am pulling the wire.

too cool man I love. Simple, affordable, reliable. Like may others, I will be making one ASAP. I just wanted to add an idea I am going to experiment with. Im going to take one of those handles from a gas powered lawn appliance, the one attached to the cord you would start it with. Drill a hole into that to feed and tie an inch or two of the end of the wire. Now your hand has a safer, easier to grip surface to utilize to pull the wire through.

Built one today and it works great for stranded wire once you get the hang of it. Thanks for posting this great idea.
