Thumbs up How to scrap a flat screen tv for cash $$$$

this one was fun for me to make.

Ever since I was a kid I have always enjoyed smashing and breaking things most people would never get to. Scrapping allows me to smash other peoples things in to smaller pieces of those things... Legally!!!

Let me know if you guys have any ideas for other videos or things to tear apart.

this one is a bit random but my kids love it so it stays goofy!

Funny dude! I like your Dragon. I have an adult Water Dragon. I will post a picture of the vivarium I built for it. It has running water and a drain to the outdoor garden. Lizard $20.00, total investment over a thousand.

Jack the scrapper is endangering his young family and perhaps scrap forum members who decide to follow his hatchet tricks.

You have heard the term Mad as a hatter, hat makers used mercury in forming felt hats, after years of this practice most lost their minds to mercury poisoning.

Where in electronics you'll find mercury, batteries, flat screen tv's, lap tops and scanners to name a few.

Good point Gusavus, I wouldn't want all that stuff splattered all over to accumulate over time.

I should show my ventilation system it sits behind the camera most of the time.

note: after every cut scene the floor is swept and cleaned and the garage door is opened to let the dust settle during sweeping.

It would require more than a home brew ventilation system to clear the air of mercury vapor, all your doing is expelling those harmful mercury vapors onto your neighbors.

We try to educate third world miners on how to prospect for gold using safer methods which are mercury free and here you are living in the modern world putting others at risk.

I have just returned from a lengthy construction trip in Managua. I can assure you that even tho the technology and information may be available to those "third world" (not the correct term its "the developing countries") and the processes may be inexpensive they would take that tv and burn it untill the plastic was melted off the steel and the lead melted off the boards by a fire in their living room with no consideration of their own health or others. When you have nothing but a match and a broken TV and 3 kids to feed you are going to burn the plastic to heat your house

Lets be fair here, all over this forum the word ''Safe, safety, and safely'' are promoted in the breakdown of scrap. While it may be fun to watch these vids I wouldn't promote the smashing of anything that contains lead or any other hazardous material nor messy glass. I myself would take them apart by dismantling them they way they are held together - by removing the screws. I have used a long handled ax or sledge to break plastic apart but no kids, animals or other ppl were in the vacinity at the time. and notice, the OP put safety glasses on when he broke the microwave down after he had dismantled it.
