    Efficiently curbco a whole neighborhood

My town's garbage system is the type where you have to put a sticker on every garbage can for them to pick it up. Once a year they have what they call Amnesty Day where you only need to put a sticker on the first five items. After that you can throw out as much as you want. It's always been curbco paradise. I go out every year they do it and always fill the truck to the brim a couple times during the week. I wanted to share with you guys my trick that I use to be as efficient as possible when cruising through the neighborhoods. The head unit in my truck is an aftermarket touchscreen unit with Garmin GPS built into it. When I'm getting ready to go out, I turn on the tracking and clear the tracking history. That way as i drive it leaves a dotted line behind me and I can make sure not to turn down the same streets again saving time and gas. And if you zoom out and plan your route ahead you can cruise down the longer streets and look left and right up the shorter streets saving you even more time and gas. I'm sure some of you have used this trick before but if you haven't give it a try. It will definitely up your curbco game.

Here in Mesa Az if you leave stuff at the curb and it sits there over night the city freaks out and sends their code compliance people to your door with threats of a citation. Cruising the neighborhoods here can get you a visit from the local law enforcement so we don't drive around looking for stuff. If there is something left out with 'free' clearly on it it's good to go. To much petty crime here with all the illegal aliens and tweekers and their scams. It makes everyone suspicious of strangers. It would be fun to be able to as you say. I am the ultimate scrounger. While visiting my wife's family in Southern Illinois and Northern Arkansas recently it was a picker's dream. I loved it. As a kid growing up in a suburb of Niagara falls I would be walking home from school. Trash cans were out on the curb full of treasures. That's how I got the scrounging bug. I used to haul boxes of old books and misc stuff home. Some of the old books one dated back to 1790 I still have 50 years later.
