How to get maximum value scraping a small van

    Hi All

My van has just given up the ghost...... ..

Apart from the obvious (Battery , Easy cable) any ideas on other quick (Dont want to waste too much time on this)..To get the best return for the good bits.

Dont have much storage space and time to realy get involved with selling low value bits n bobs ...

    Cheers people.......British

Speaking from a purely scrap standpoint....I ALWAYS grab battery, radiator, and catalytic converter. Most of the time, I'll take the starter, alternator, AC compressor and whatever wiring I can hack out with some cutters quickly. I've even taken a sledgehammer to the top of the engine and busted up the manifold and valve cover to grab a bit of aluminum but thats a bit of stretch for me anymore. Proper tools makes all the difference when youre pulling the small parts off the motor, for the sake of time.

How bad is it? Can it be restored to a running condition or did your daughters boyfriend take her out to bang... Ahhhhh... go "hot rodding?"

Can you sell parts on ebay or other local type site??? You will loose almost no weight and may well make more off the parts. 73, Mike

Exactly how I do it. When the prices are low.....can't be chasing pennies AL the . No more spending an hour trying to strip parts and cashing in 3.50 worth of aluminum
