The radiators I've been pulling from A/C units carrying r 410a have had radiators with smaller diameter copper tubing. Compared to a comparably sized r22 A/C unit. I read about this in Wikipedia's article about heat exchangers.
Now I know what your thinkin, that because it's Wikipedia it's probably a load of croc, but it makes sense when I look at starkly smaller radiators in modern ACs. According to the article, the smaller diameter tubing can handle the intensely higher pressures of r410a. Not to be doom and gloomy but we need to adapt to the future of ACs which overall will likely contain less amounts of non ferrous commodities as a result of sustainable manufacturing goals.
