I've been using a (pelouze 250 lb utility scale) for over 20 years or so and I bought it used. Seems they are around $75 give or take $25 from what I saw on eBay.
Put that in the eBay search and you can see what they look like. It is a great scale as it's very portable and has a lever on it that you can lock on the weight and then move the stuff out of the way and see what it weighs. It's well worth the money and it's the cats meow for a non digital scale. It is a lot tougher and don't require any batteries. The dial is easy to read. It's basically a fancy bathroom scale with a locking dial and a carry handle to bring it to the next buffet or scrap job.,lol...

I'll throw my vote in for an older Fairbanks farm scale if you can find one. You balance the beam yourself, but I wouldn't give ours up for anything.
A Fairbanks won't be easy to ship, but there should be some in your area. If not, I'd go with a Pelouze like ChildhoodDream recommended. I have one at the office, and it's spot on. The Fairbanks has a larger platform than my Pelouze does, though.

ive got a sportsman made by buffalo tools it a hanging scale goes to 330lbs 25 bucks at the feed store

In my opinion, there is not much reason to spend more that what you would spend on a bathroom scale at a yard sale. I am not making a case that it is better other than the cost. A pound or two at $0.07 or 1.50/ lb is not going to make a huge difference in your life. If the scale was off 5 pounds at 100 pounds for $1.50 for brass (which would be alot), A $75 scale would take months to recoup... and that is assuming the yard is screwing you.
Don't sweat the small stuff. You will pay $'s to save pennies.

I use a hand held digital fishing scale for up to 50 lbs. and a bathroom scale that I found for 51 lbs. and over.

I paid $10 for a luggage scale, it goes up to 85 pounds. Cheap and I get a good idea of what I have.
