    Different types of aluminum

I'm going through my piles now trying to clear some room but I want to know what aluminum to pile together. I have. 10 cast motorcycle sportbike wheels ( Most coated), Few car wheels, alot of casted motorcycle parts, Aluminum wire and some new snow guards. I also just got about 100 painted aluminum bicycle wheels. I obviously want to get the most. Thanks,

I'd say to sort them just like you're saying here. Put everything in separate tubs, barrels or boxes. Haul them in and let the yard combine the containers. Basically there is:

    Cast
    Sheet
    Irony Aluminum

    (edit) forgot Extrusion
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

I found a piece of thick wire like something today, looked like aluminum, was heavier though, but not as heavy as SS. No magnetic pull. It was much tougher than AL, as I tried to bend it up into a shorter bunch, it was much tougher than plain AL?

Way more than 17 kinds of aluminum. Once again refer to the ISRI specs...this is the scrappers bible.

There should be a link to the ISRI Scrap Specs right at the top beside ScrapMonster - just my 2 cents.

Yes more than 17 types. I put the ISRI link in my post but it looks like its not working!

Reposted it for you, I think it's working now.

Aluminum combined with various percentages of other metals (generally copper, manganese, magnesium, and chromium) from the alloys that are used in aircraft construction. Aluminum combined with various percentages of other metals generally copper, manganese, magnesium, and chromium. From the alloys that are used in aircraft construction.
On the other hand, those alloys in which substantial percentages of copper are used are more susceptible to corrosive action.
