Question New Guy Here. Looking for good sources of Aluminum.

    Hey there,

I'm not really a scrapper but I do need to find scrap aluminum and sometimes steel or iron for my backyard foundry.

I've kinda browsed around on craigslist at the freebies looking for things that are made of aluminum but wasn't having too much luck.

I noticed that scrappers really aren't interested in aluminum because of how little it's worth but I could really use quite a bit of it.

With that said, where have you guys seen the most of your aluminum?

DO you want it free or are you willing to pay for it?

For backyard foundry work you want previously cast aluminum. If you were to offer your local scrap yard $1/lb cash you could probably get all you'll ever need. Better yet if you post a location there may be a forum member that can help you out.
If it wasn't for the $ in $crap, it would just be.....

Wish I had known someone needed aluminum. Now I feel silly for cashing in $500 worth. Who knew it wasn't worth much? Learn something every day.

He said in his first sentance that he realy isn't a scraper. By his third sentance he proved it. At least he isn't bs'en. What I want to know is, if he's not realy a scraper what is doing on a scraping forum?
