What to do with consumer grade cords and cables?

I'm sitting on probably 500 pounds of mixed consumer cords and cables. Phone cords, networking cables, phone chargers, random wall wart plugs, you name it. It looks like I'm facing two options...spend umpteen hours sorting and hoping for ebay buyers, or get the lowest possible $ amount by just taking them in as wire to the scrap yard. Neither option sounds appealing, but they take up a lot of space and I can't keep holding onto them forever. Ideally I'd LOVE to find someone who would buy the entire lot at a better than scrap price so they could sort and resell themselves, but I know that's a longshot. Is there any avenue I'm not thinking of?

best bet for time/money, just separate out the phone wire and rj11 since that is a separate type of wiring...check with local yard to see if they want wall warts removed or not, then take them there.....not one will pay the shipping to sell on ebay (and each replacement cords can be had for VERY cheap....I can get gold plated hdmi cables for $4-5/each online. Unless it is something that is a weird cable or power supply, that will get you the most money for least hassle. I tried to sell power cables and other things at $1/each and it just sat there. Move on, get $$$ and go get more valuable stuff to scrap again instead of trying to squeeze every cent out of it....old say, nickle holding up a dollar.

Try some local computer shops? They might be interested in the power cords, hdmi, etc. You can try to sell them, you can trade for their scrap, you can give them away along with your business card? I did sell some on craigslist, but it took time...
