You might go to the manufacturer's website and search product support. Some are so good that you can even download schematics for the circuit boards.
I was talking with a gent that's been in the electronics repair business for over 40 years and he was saying that he has problems getting parts from Vizio. He usually won't attempt to repair the ones that come into his shop for that reason.

Sears use to let you buy parts online from their parts depot but they've since discontinued it. Best place is ebay unfortunately. I'm in the same boat with a lcd that's cracked on the bottom of the screen.

Ya been trying use ebay to find part numbers. Funny you say that about vizio I just put up a vizio computer for parts on ebay hopefully I will get a good hit on it.

Mine's made by Haier and I unfortunately know it will cost $300 for a new screen from the mfgr since they don't make it anymore. I keep it around as an extra gaming monitor for my 360.
As an alternative to you repairing it, test it with the broken screen. If it works correctly and you can let run for hours without any defects other than the screen then you can sell the parts.Originally Posted by logansryche
Well maybe you can, do the ebay research first, make certain you check the "sold" area. If the parts sell include a photo of the tv on with the broken screen in your listings.
It shows why you are selling the parts and a little reassurance that the parts work. Also inspect the "caps" before listing so you won't get anything back, hopefully.

I usually just google/seach Ebay with the part number on the board, or the model number on the TV.
Can't go by just by the model number though, especially on plasma's...model may be the same, but the chassis can vary and the boards may be different.

I picked up a 10 yr old 50 inch phillips awhile back. Chick said it just quit working. I spied two blown caps on a main board. I sold the rest of the boards on fleabay for an excess of $100. Just by doing as stated above, search "sold" 'n priced um competitively.
