There is some metals/motors worth a little (and a nice transformer) in them but watch out for the pink disk. That rascal has been known to cause cancer. Here this might help; http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/disma...agnetrons.html

see i was going crazy i thought because i have thrown out hundreds of microwaves with out removing these things when i get home in a few days i will take the pics and post them here cause the research i did on here and other sites is very confliting. the attunetors and this wire mesh looking stuff is what a friend took to 2 pawn shops since he did not have a tester himself and he is a fellow scrapper and told me that it tested as 10k plated but they would not buy it of course and i thought he was just bull craping me but when i look on the web which is of course not always right sure but in this case there is stuff being sold on ebay there are other sites that say this too and on here is were i prefer to listen and learn because so far i have not found a better site than this to learn from and even on here there is conflicting things so thats why i am asking because i am sitting on almost 200 more microwaves i have not thrown out yet so as soon as i can i am going to tear some out and go have it tested at a jewerly store thats really good with me about buying stuff i find and will post what i have found out here

There is gold in microwaves, yah just need to know where it is............

A while ago I found a 'National - Genius II' microwave with a brown silicon keyboard & thick gold tracing. The card was the size of a postcard & 25% or less coverage of gold.

Yesterday I found a 'Fountain' microwave. I think its a NZ brand, but made overseas & assembled here. 2x postcard size & a higher % Gold coverage.

    Will get pics soon.

Under that. 4 Gold boards from behind the LCD on microwaves.
    ----------
    Others
Bottom row, 5 security alarm keypads
Middle, light strips from Fax machines, panasonic etc
Top right. Board from weather system computer?
Top middle. The 'Star' & the 2 broken boards under it. B&W TV channel control.
To its right. Gold on broken board from old scool printing calculator. That was a weird find, didn't expect that.

To the left of the red Sim card. Double stack pink ceramic IC & white ceramic IC.
Under that. part of gold plated mirror from photocopier (horizontal)

Top left corner & downwards, small items.
Gold transistors, small gold transistors, SAW devices with gold plating (& solder on the smallest one), Gold image chips from old skool video recorders, Gold image chips from faxes (longer rectangles)

'D' shaped thing with hole in it, gold plated board from a really old printer.

I couldn't find the gold plated strips from the B&W TV channel changer. One for each channel. I haven't seen them for a while. You'd understand if you saw my store room....

I found more gold in a microwave a few days ago.
It was a old microwave with the red LED numerals as the clock face.

The board was different because the actual LED's were mounted directly onto the board. Just the tiny salt sized grain of LED & a gold wire attached to it.
Where the LEDs were mounted was plated with gold.

Not a lot, but its GOLD!

I have been taking it easy today as that is what I feel like doing.

I was thinking about all the microwaves that I have around the yard and how many are the commercial and big spendy ones.

It seems that GOLD gets most peoples attention. I personally don't think much about gold as I don't follow the masses. I like copper and nickel as the poor mans coins are made of those metals. I like pennies and nickels when it comes to coins. I also like the big coins like Ikes and such.

Being rich and famous was never a goal for me as I always viewed the so called rich and famous as unhappy people overall.

I remember the "winos, bums, hobos" that I met when a small child. That some of them told me stories about how they had a high paying job, family and such and just couldn't take the PRE$$URE of that type of LIFE and just ran away basically.

I still see people getting to a point where they want a simpler LIFE. But they chase other versions of the same failed plans of the past.

Just change one ingredient in their recipe of failure and that might work as it has to.

A backward world is always backwards in reality.
