Trash Picking isn't possible in my town. What should I do?

Well I live in Central PA, And I've been reading about Bulk Trash Pickups, I thought that companies do it round here, But found out they don't, only trash in bags. Now I've driven around many times on days that people put out trash. Now I've went across the river to the town next to me, I didn't really see bulk Trash pick up either. Now I don't know about a Dumpy Coal town near me thats in the Coal mountains that is a bit more populated, Do ya think I should call companies over there to see if they pick up bulk? Because my reasoning, that town is Dumpy looking, and since its dumpy, I reasoned that people probably just throw their crap out instead of paying people to take it away when getting an appliances. I have no idea to get scrap on a regular free basis, I mean I got some Flourescent Light fixtures from a Rent A Center, Got a gig at a New TJ Max store that gave us all their Scrap Steel studs, and then I got a bunch of Craigslist calls aswell, but when I don't get calls I don't know what to do to get Scrap metal, I go around looking for stuff sitting outside or if you can see in dumpsters if there is stuff inside of the dumpster, I'd go ask the store if I can have it. But aswell that wastes alot of gas too, and there always isn't a guarantee. So I'm wondering, What do you guys Suggest that I do if anything is possible for me?

Have patience it takes time to develop regular contacts where you can get stuff to scrap, recycle or resell. Use flyers, business cards and tell friends and family what you do and what you will take. If you reply to CL ads tell them what other stuff you will take. Sometimes one or two items can turn into a truck load. People usually are happy as heck to get rid of their junk .
As a driver I'm always sober, but my truck is always ready to get loaded

Put out flyers where you can, word of mouth when you get the chance, join freecycle and place an ad there such as - Wanted: appliances and electronic items to recycle, then write in the ad you'll pick up any unwanted items for free and give a list of examples, I also ad a "please help keep these items out of our landfills" because recycling to ease the strain on landfills is what the site is really all about (no trading or bartering is allowed, it must be free)

Ever try buying scrap metal ? Easier to maintain a constant flow that way, and volume is the name of this game. Only making $50 a ton beats making nothing
