tin @ $75/gross ton Not sure why prices are always so much more lower here in CA than other states. Perhap I should check out prices in Los Angeles I think the prices are better there but, about a 2 hour drive. I will need to save up and bring bunk loads in that case.

On a positive note the only good thing about low prices is if you find something and can't get it as your truck is full it may still be there when you drive back!

$0.07 yesterday here in Sarasota. I got $0.075 (I think because I am a regular). I am going to be cleaning up my shop today and I have a ****pot of brass. I think I am going to make sure the price is up before I dump 100# at the yard.

Fellow Scrapper took in a load at Local Rat Corp yesterday: $160/ton
Tried to call my yard which is a feeder yard for a better paying company upstream- no answer.

So worst case here right now is the $160/ton
Guess the brunt of Q4 Mill orders were cancelled. Not good for all of us.

as of today in southern Maryland drive in small load (under 1,000) was .05 The "we like you" price on tin/shred/mix for over 2000lbs was .0625 and we unload the truck.
That's a ouch I'll process and hold until spring. Got around 2000bs of stainless to get ready and a bunch of aluminum to clean and sort for later.

Sad to say.. but this is just one of the dips and downturns in our market. I'm holding steel right now. And I am not out hunting cars that people want $500 bucks for. Unless it's dirt cheap, I'm not paying for anything right now. Rather sit at home and count the cash I have than spend it to work to break even.

On a bright note- the curbs have been good as of late- I guess .08/lb is a threshold here where I live. See a lot more on the curb I'm able to pick up because guys have all but abandoned the routes.

    Hold, wait and WIN!

Cars and light iron at $7.50/cwt here and still dropping. It's going to get worse, too. I'm pretty much cleaned out of steel for now, and it takes a while for me to build a batch. I mostly just have scrap pipe, manifolds and ends that I cut off of converters.
