You could travel to Cornwall, 180 a ton (2000) lbs) and not 155 a gross ton (2240lbs) about 1h 15 mins one way.

Why do they measure ferrous in metric ton and other metal in pds? Another learning opportunity for us in the trenches.

I think a gross ton is 2,240 pds. and a metric ton is 2,204 pds. If this statement is inaccurate, please correct me. This is not a big issue in this thread, but could make a difference in my situation.

A gross ton is a British unit of weight that is also known as a long ton. It is equivalent to 1,016.05 kilograms, 1.016 metric tons and 2,240 pounds.

Crazy prices at the yard yesterday. Took this pic for the non-believers. Cornwall ONT. yard. (Gerdeau)

    Check out these copper prices!

It's hard to read, but it looks like $2.80 for No. 2 Copper. That would be $0.30 better than in Ottawa. Definitely worth keeping them in mind. Thanks SuperDave.
