Just completed my first transaction with Dave. I've gotta say I couldn't be more satisfied it was a quick process and they reimbursed me for the shipping. If you haven't had the pleasure of doing business with him I recommend you go find some tungsten.

We have a military contract to lift all the spent shells for 5 years. And we are recovering from those.
I estimate to collect around a minimum of 7000 pounds in the current lot of shells i have. Currently i am in the process of removing steel and brass out from the lot.

Large silver contacts from large circuit breakers and magnetic start switches, the silver is sweated into a tungsten wafer that becomes the contact pad. When this type of contact is refined for the silver the wafer stays behind in the leach usually turning into a Gray powder.

The reason your not receiving these as scrap tungsten is that the pads are sold on ebay as scrap silver.

local company that made breakers closed down not to long ago and we got a 55 gallon drum of the unused little carbide buttons in the contactors but I would definitely scrap it for the silver over the carbide.

PM's require a certain number of posts before you are authorized. I don't recall the exact number but just go read some of the introductions and do one for yourself. Respond a few times and you will be good to go and learn a little on the way. Mike

Are you able to recycle thoriated tungsten electrodes, these are used for Tig welding and radio active.

Below the colour coding used on tungsten electrodes.

Yes....but only after the radiation is gone....you have to leave them in the sun outside for a long time. A couple guys sell us X-ray machine parts and they just leave them in the sun till they're uncontaminated.
