I have a lot of small carbide bits from saw teeth used for cutting lumber...they are coated with silver solder. What is the current price/lb for them?

Yes we buy the tips only at $11.00 a lb. it's easier to pop them off with a torch then to cut them though.

I have a decent quantity of drill steel heads for mining, I've been melting them out with the torch on rainy days. There is still slight bits of slag still stuck on the carbide inserts. Is that acceptable? Is there a better way to get these out?

The leftover slag is called brazing and its fine to have it on there, it's just a dollar less per pound. Even if you could completely remove the brazing the damage has been done to the carbide but its not a big deal its still worth $11.00lb

Inserts and endmills are the same price. $12.25 lb. only price that's different is if it has braze on it.

I would try to get your carbide to us as soon as possible its not really gonna go up after the first of the year and i have no idea what amount it will be then. Some of the largest purchasers of scrap carbide have quit buying until the first of the year and i have never even seen that.
