For awhile I would just sell them as electric motors but then I saw this rebuild shop for starters and alternators. so I went in there and was able to sell them for$5.00 each. Is this a good deal or am I getting ripped off?:l

haha, I tried that too and they informed me that they got all theirs from china ; ) They did however say an old generator might be of interest to em
Scrap value is only around $1.00- 1.50 so I think your doing ok. Especially if you don't have to travel far to get to them.Quote:

Find a core guy or local car junk yard would work if needed. But i havent got less than 4.00 each for an engine accessory since 2002
alternators average $5 for scrap here, I usually don't mess with starters, I have sold a few alternators to the rebuild shop here, I think I got $8 for them, they are out of the way from my normal rounds so I usually don't think about them
I'm getting $4 at scrap value for alternator and starters.
