    Off Topic

When did off topic discussions become taboo, the Soros agenda is coming to an end. Just thought this news would make ya all happy.

Soon - No more rallies or paid crises actors needed. If I've ruffled a few feathers I make no apologies.

Soon the streets will be free of drugs our nations children will be safe.

Off topic subjects can be an interesting diversion, sometimes. This is only my opinion, but seeing you post so many politically motivated posts, and posts that have no empirical evidence or proof is a little much. Maybe post something and open a discussion, or if you are only interested in disseminating information don't always make it so dire and negative? You can do whatever you like, this is only a suggestion, but wouldn't it make this forum a much nicer and pleasant place if you didn't post so much of this type of thing? Honestly? In this day and age when we are bombarded with so much information, so fast and most from media outlets seemingly so dire and unpleasant I personally would like to see something more upbeat, more positive, more what we should be standing up for, not standing against. Considering this:

Considering that so many people have become so disenfranchised with our current politics, it seems to me that we will only see more protests including violence and rallies promoting socialism and worse.

If you watched the video I posted, you will notice that gun crime has already reduced by 39% since 1993. Things are getting much better. So far as street drugs are concerned, that's an entirely different story but if we were to compare street drugs to prescription drugs you might change how you think of drugs in the United States and be more concerned about the drugs being sold, that our tax payer dollars pay for, that are being prescribed in unrealistic amounts and causing so many deaths.

In 2014, almost 2 million Americans abused or were dependent on prescription opioids.

And if you are referring to cannabis, which I honestly hope you are not, it's not only not addictive but it's medical benefits, even being that they are just now being explored, seem very promising indeed. But lets put all that aside for the time being and talk about what IS legal.

It's my opinion, that our news media in this country has been manipulating public opinion for so long it's become a pundit for corporations to lead us to believe that we should be paying attention to some issues while ignoring the real issues. Considering that 90% of the news in the United States is controlled by only 6 corporations it isn't so far fetched to believe there is a huge corporate interest in manipulating public opinion so as to divert our attention from the real issues and problems.

I'm not sure what these links are referring to, they look to me to be court dates for specific people but just quickly looking them over I didn't see any names I recognized, admittedly I didn't look too hard but what are these all about? Are these just people who have been indicted for something, or is it specifically related to something going on with all the political scandals currently?

What is your intent in posting all of this?

I did enjoy the video and believe it is mostly accurate. Overall the world may be a safer place, safer food and water for example. At the same time we have threads to our safety that have emerged in the last 40-50 years. These threats capitalize on the expansion of our exposure to the mono media.

I'm 64 and as a child grew up with just 3 tv channels, ABC, NBC and CBS. Once we no longer had to get up to twist the channel dial on the tv I discovered that all the news was the same. I would pick up the remote and flip from one channel to the next only to find each describing the same stories in the same manner and nearly always in the the sequence.

I often listen to Rush Limbaugh on the radio and remember well his pointing out how homogeneous our news outlets are. In the presidential campaign with George W Bush the press didn't think much of him until he chose **** Cheney to be his running mate. The one one of the talking heads on tv stated that having **** Cheney as a running mate added gravitas to his campaign.

Definition of the word GRAVITAS: dignity, seriousness, or solemnity of manner.
"a post for which he has the expertise and the gravitas"
synonyms: dignity, seriousness, solemnity, gravity, sobriety

Well after that every fricking news person with a microphone that term to describe **** Cheney's function in the campaign. Rush Limbaugh ran a recording of I think perhaps hundreds of "news" people using that same term to describe **** Cheney.

Why is this example important to me? It supports my belief that far too many of the "news" folks are like minded and if they are not are not employed. 73 for now guys, Mike

    From the forum rules:
    * - Disallowed thread/post topics - Religious discussions, Political discussions (unless it's directly related to metal recycling and IS NOT a debate),...
I help out on a forum for another industry. The rule is similar there. The reasoning goes something like this--There's plenty of places on the net specifically devoted to politics. It's not necessary to have an additional one here. And anybody whose politics are profoundly screwed up enough as to disagree with mine can't be trusted to have anything worthwhile to say about the main topic of the forum.

Personally, regardless of which direction they're coming from, I find personalities who continually want to advance their political beliefs, tiresome.
