I'm going to type this slowly, and think out what I type. It's a good practice session for my personal life. It's not that we don't believe you. Looking back, nobody said they don't believe you. YOU said you don't believe us. When you first arrived on the board, you did this with "where can I sell my boards, nobody around here buys them". We held your hand and walked you through that too. Right now, I will tell you this. YOU WILL NOT MAKE MONEY AT THIS THE FIRST YEAR. Anyone who tells you that you will, is lying. I don't care what anyone out here says. You can show me you "made" money the first year, and we'll dig into it and figure it out. When I first did this, I drove multiple times, 100+ miles round trip for 4-6 towers, that I Paid 5 dollars a piece for. I KNEW I was losing money while I was doing this. But it got me product, and I learned so much about the market. I did this on purpose. You will have to do the same thing. Go to a Pack N Ship type of place. Even if it's 100 miles away. LEARN from them. I did this with boards. I knew I was going to get screwed by the yard by what they paid me. But they graded them in front of me. Cheap education. I have read, and read, and read and read some more on the internet. I will tell you I have over 2000 hours of reading on the area of scrapmetal and business. I have another 2000 hours of reading. I do this on dialup. You will read things that have no bearing on anything. But for every 100 things your read, 1 thing will be beneficial.

Attached are 2 snips of pages from my FedEx account. As you can see, nobody here is bull****ting you. $55.46. Let's make a deal here, We will ship thru my account, and you pay me $110. I think we both win here.

As people have said before, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

I've never shipped anything large like that so I can't help you. I watched your video and I'm seeing the high shipping prices also.

I'm also seeing others say they can ship it for 50 bucks. WTF. Are you guys getting special rates? Did Rick piss everyone off at the shipping companies and is now getting his own special rates for doing so?

Go back to the Ebay shipping calculator and look at UPS and Fedex. You only looked at USPS, which is the absolute most expensive way to ship your item.

$53.62 Using the Ebay calculator. Anytime you're shipping cross country, I've found, FedEx is the cheaper carrier. For me anything that goes West of the Mississippi is shipped FedEx, unless the item is small enough to put in a flat rate priority box and is cheaper then FedEx's rate. Make sure you are clicking on the Ebay rates button as well. I always add shipping costs when selling on Ebay, unless shipping is minimal and then I just add it to the price of the item, because I've been burned in the past for not doing so. I personally don't like wasting my time listing, selling, packing and then shipping something off only to find I've lost money or made peanuts.

Nearest Starbucks is 57 miles away according to Google maps ... nearest place to ship 'large boxes' UPS or Fedex is 24 miles away.
Clearfield County has a population of 81,600 and a size of 1,145 square miles. Largest town in the county is DuBois, with 7,800 people.

I'd like to see another video except this time use the Fedex and UPS tabs in your Ebay shipping calculator.

Great idea. That's what I was thinking in post #7, but no reply or response. It appears he doesn't really want assistance....

    As do I...

Pretty much anywhere between Philly and Pittsburgh is middle of nowhere.

    There's a reason it's called Pennsyltucky.

    RLS,
I hope you have been following SheepDog's 200 laptop thread. It should help you understand the shipping game. He sent about 1500 pounds (plus the pallet) to Mario for $155. He is about 2 hours east of you on Route 80. That's 2 hours farther from Mario. He shipped from a residential address. The freight carrier Mario used was Central Transport. There is a central transport in Dubois. Hopefully you can take this info (finally believe us) and make some money shipping to the dead people in the buyers thread. As an FYI, Gorven also uses Central Transport, if you need to ship to any of the other dead buyers.
