Then use it until it carries enough to the bone yard to buy you a bigger one, which you will undoubtedly come across at the right price if you have your eyes open and a little cash on you.

Your parents are letting you scrap, and I assume your grandpa is allowing you use his trailer free of charge. Are you paying for gas? Stop *****ing and get it done with what you have.

Keep your eyes peeled for 3" steel channel , trailer axles, and dual axle trailer springs & hardware. It's great stuff for building your own bigger trailer with.

It's expensive as all getout to buy new but if you can get it for little or nothing ? The low cost makes it workable for a young fulla just starting out.

Got any friends or relatives with welding skills ?

Generally, an amazing deal on a trailer will come around when you have cash in your pocket, but shouldn't spend it.
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.

A trailer opens up a LOT of scrap room. If you can't weld, use a drill to make some sides on it. Pick up some bed rails scrapping and either (if you're lucky) find some wood for sides or buy some wood and use nuts and bolts instead of welds. that way you can remove the sides if grampa doesn't like them or want them on when he uses it again.

Your crying about your trailer being to small? I sure there are many on this forum that wish they had a small trailer. You should be thankful you have a trailer.

By all means, tell gramps to get busy and get you a better trailer. And to give you a foot rub as long as he's up.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

    You'll be fine.

One of my trailers is the back half of a GMC. It does just fine. If you're on a budget, you can usually buy a pickup box trailer for $200-300. They're not as nice as a flashy car hauler, but then again, who cares? We're scrappers.

But, the cheapest setup is almost always the one that you own. There's a reason that a lot of us use older trucks and trailers.
