    Found an old fan while picking yesterday.

    Its a 50s (assume) "Le John" hassock fan model c-12-1. Ill try and get a picture, but you can also google "old hassock fan" This thing is so cool. I couldnt scrap it if I wanted to. The power cable sockaet was smashed in pieces, so I tried to solder a new one on. Just a tip, 60 year old wire doesnt accept solder very well It works though

    And these are goin for about $50 on ebay, but I dont see myself selling it.

    use flux to solder to old or tarnished wires. You won't believe the difference.

    Or buy the flux filled solder, works even better.

    Also take a brass wire brush to the connections you're trying to solder.

    Take a modern power cord off some kind of e-scrap and rewire it on where the original hooks up to the fan. Upgrading for safety sake.

    I cant get the fan apart! haha The bottom end (where the cord attaches) is rusted in place
