I am seeing ram going for $20-$30 per pound on ebay. Even the big companies are paying around $20 per pound now. never seen prices this high
And i just got a call from a guy that has some ram to sell for $10 a pound and has a bunch old computer towers as he calls them, im going over there right now.

my buyer in new york is at 18, i havnt really searched around but im sure there are ones paying 20 now
and he lets me put in rambus with the gold ram so its like getting $20+ per pound

I don't see any completed listings that have sold for $30 a lb, though there definitely is several pushing $20+ after shipping and such. I think some bidders are hoping to find usable RAM they can re-sell. RAM is pretty rugged, in my experience. You can have them piled in a tupperware for years and they'll still be good, even if they get moved around a bunch.

OK lets take that sale and do the math. $25 minus ruffly 15% for ebay and paypal fees is $21.25 now minus shipping of $5 because its more than 13 ounces you have to ship at the cheapist in a padded flat rate envelope for $5. So thats $16.25 for a pound of ram going to the seller. Dont get me wrong a profit is a profit but that just dont seem worth it to me.

Plus added to what parttimescrapper said. Then you have to hold your breathe once mailed to a ebay buyer. They can leave you negative feedback, complain, and even though you did things right, ebay is almost always going to find in buyers favor. To many low dsr's and feedback. Ebay will shut you down. And for life if not resolved after suspensions.

you can fit 70 pounds in a large flat rate box and sell it for $20 per pound on ebay, after 15% for fees your still clearing over $16, works about the same either way. Luckily ive found a buyer that takes rambus at the full price so it gives me an edge and he pays pretty good for silver ram also like $15 per pound

I don't think that 70 pounds of RAM will fit in a flat rate box. I am thinking more like 25 to 30 for the large flat rate box. I have not checked to be sure.

If only one or two is mixed in with a load I buy it but if more than just a few I seperate and give a much lower price

I offer returns. I hardly ever get any.
List accurate, treat all your buyers the way you would like to be treated and be as truthful as you can and you can avoid many of these issues. I have been burned, but just like any other business, you just write it off as cost of doing business.
And my last dispute.... a $100 blackberry... was ruled in my favor. They said they didn't order it and didn't receive it. I was able to provide tracking and get my funds back... it did take a while... that sucked.
