    Grade of telecom boards?

Today I got a pallet of old telecom equipment. I am not real familiar with this type of board. I am sure there is value here, I am just not real sure how to grade them. I do know that some of them are really cool looking. I stand to get many more pallets of these types of equipment from these folks.

I have included some pictures of the boards.

The first 3 are all the same board from both sides and close up.

In the 4th picture, lower right, just above a rectangle cut out there is what looks like a ceramic chip with a sticker on it. It probably is in a socket. Pull those and set aside. Look up the number on it, especially if there is a glass window under the sticker. They typically have better than scrap value. I would also guess back in 85 they were putting heavier gold on the boards too. Nice find.

    They should range from $3-$8lb.

I did get paid "motherboard" grade for them even though my yard was a bit reluctant. I had a whole gaylord of these boards, but I also had a gaylord of really nice regular motherboards and server boards also. He just went with us splitting the difference. That was at a yard here in Waterloo and they do not have a lot of different grades for boards. I got $3.50 lb for the whole lot. The place is only 2 miles from my shop so transportation cost were low. I have had good luck here and in LeRoy, MN. With the price of fuel right now it is as important to me to keep transportation cost down as much as anything. I only spent an hour or so on the whole transaction also, thus leaving me the rest of my day to do the other million things that need to be done.
