phone jacks and plugs

Yes they are gold plated. Contact etack in the buyer section. They do not weigh much and he thinks the return is much more then other gold ends per pound. I am going to send mine to him and he will tole refine them and send me back gold!

Well I'll be hornswoggled! Here I've been throwing phone cord in my number 2 with the ends intact.

I just mix these in with my other gold connectors and send them off to a buyer. Never had a problem getting $2+ per # for them...

Yep i buy them as gold conector ends $2 a pound.

There's a lot of buyers that buy them, they just go with all the other connectors.

Just an FYI it takes 14 square inches of 6 micron (235 micro inches) thick plating to make a gram of gold. The plating is only that thick on the small area that contacts the other wires, but the other part is flash plated. Not all are 6 microns or 235 micro inches most are around 50 micro inches which would take 65 square inches to make a gram.

I say save them and have them refines only because the amount of phone jack plugs to make a pound is huge and the amount of gold plating is far more than what is in regular monitor plugs or USB plugs per pound. this is just my thinking on this if I had a five gallon bucket of phone jacks I wold't sell them for $2.00#

I think I will do some measurements tomorrow on this to get a better idea in the amount of gold per phone jack and Ethernet jacks.

Sounds like you just found your niche besides tcaps? Make up a price for all the different types of gold conectors and start buying. You can be rich Personaly I just offer $2 a pound because its a good average and ive never had enuff to warrant sendig them in all by themselves. They do make good filler to a gaylord box though thats going to the refiner.
