    Window A/C unit

I got an e-mail on Craigslist about a window A/C this guy is getting rid of, and I know you get more money by taking it all apart, and i have no idea what to look for as this is my first one. Can i get a little help?

I just e-mailed a local HVAC company to see if they remove it and for how much if they do.

proably will cost more than you can make a good profit on , I take AC's cut the cords and take the shell , the rest I drop off at another scrappers place , he also takes all my CRT monitors !

My friend knew how to take out the freon, so he did it for us. It was an old GE A/C.

once you remove the freon seperate it into 4 categories copper, blackmotor/compressor ,acr and tin cut the acr pull the motor and the compressor cut away the copper clean the a.c.r you should walk away with $28-$50 based on the size of the unit

make sure you cut the steel brackets at the ends of the acr off. around here we get .50 for breakage or 1.30 for clean, and you will end up with more copper as well. the first few i did the yard told me to put the compressor in with the shred pile, but while i was in getting paid they walked them back into the building. its a nice motor that makes up most of the weight of the ac units i do, and the extra .10 a lb is worth finding a place that will pay you for what it is.
