    My first dumpster dive!

Hi guys, I've been really nervous about dumpster diving but reading your posts bolstered my courage. So last night I took the plunge. I was a little scared so I only did the dumpster at my apartment building but I scored! I got a recliner/lift chair and some misc decorations. The lift chair was heavy! I had to get help to get it out of the dumpster. I haven't been able to look at it yet but I'm guessing it has to have some sort of motor in it. Plus it had some wired connections for the lift. Has anyone scrapped out one of these before?

No. But I'd say the best way to find out is to turn it upside down. The bottom should be velcro-ed so easy to open. Then all motor and other metal & wiring should be accessible. Now, throw the chair back in the dumpster.

    Good score.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Thanks! Yes, the bottom was just velcro-ed on. I could see the metal and wiring but haven't had a chance to do anything other than glance at it. I can't wait to get out of work today to go tear into it!
