    xmas lights to computer towers

So I have this deal with Christmas lights where whenever I get low on them, I seem to always find more to fill up the rest of the 26 gal can I store them in...Never fails...I don't mind them, easy snips and becomes #2 insulated, so I'm not complaining...

But today... Was throwing away some plastic from last computer tower I've had in my truck for a couple days and low and behold...there were 9 more computer towers in the dumpster...cha ching.

I'm sure going to miss the easy access to apartment dumpsters though.

Can always go back to them, or heck even better, tell the management people to send a letter to all the tenants to turn in broken pcs or any type of escrap or metal and you will come by and remove it.

I live in those kind of fancy apartments where people are snooty and rich. My wife and I are black sheep here. Front office would never do something like that, although the maintenance man has been dropping off metal in my truck every once in awhile.

Yeah, we have some of those around this area as well. Never know though. Sometimes people are open to the idea.

That's one thing I never come across...Christmas lights. A few months ago before I joined this site and knew there was any value in computers, other than the metal casings..I found and left about 5 towers minus HD in my dumpster .. now I kick my self.for not knowing this!

I didn't find a 32'' tv yesterday though, sad though I couldn't break it down, cleaned it up and it works great!

My yard will buy them with bulbs for .25lb or without for 1.25lb .... I guess I should add I've never asked if xmas light wire was #2...I've always put it with #2 and have never been told otherwise by the yards.

Thats a great tip right there!!

I haul all my insulated to the yard in those heavy paper flour sacks. throw 4 or 5 30lb bags on the scales, they know the bag weighs "F.All" so they then just up end the bags in the gaylord, and pay me!

I mean, I don't go over board, but nothing wrong with a little low grade mixed in with the #2. after all I payed for the fuel to get it there! LOL
